CFE738: Falcon Power
The success of the GE27/GE38 gas generator development of the 1980s led to the formation of the CFE Company by GE and the Garrett Engine Division of Allied Signal in 1987 (now Honeywell).
The result has been the CFE738 advanced turbofan engine. GE is responsible for the core of the engine and control system while Honeywell manages the front fan, low-pressure turbine and accessory gearbox.
Each efficient high-bypass engine is controlled by dual, redundant full authority digital engine controls.
